Back In the Saddle Clinic
The ‘Back in the Saddle’ clinic is a three day long one-on-one horse training clinic designed to give each rider and horse focused, individualized attention. Sessions are tailored to your specific goals, challenges, and interests.
Because the clinic is individualized, we meet you and your horse where you are. Let us know what goals you have for you and your horse and we’ll help you work towards those goals. Riders of all levels and disciplines are welcome.
Limited to 6 participants.
Participants: $750 for all three days (bring your own horse, includes indoor stall -or roundpen- for the course) plus HST
Spectators: $75 per day or $150 plus HST for all three days - must register

Where is the course being held?
-Northstar Livestock: 1465 B Line, Southampton, Ontario, Canada. 2.5 hours northwest of Pearson International Airport. The closest towns are about 10 minutes away - Port Elgin and Southampton.
How do I apply for the course?
-Contact Jason and Bronwyn Irwin through the website contact form or email thehorsetrainersjb@gmail.com for information and to register. A questionnaire will be sent and information provided.
Is a deposit required to participate?
-Yes, due to limited participant spaces deposit is required.
Will the course be indoors or outside?
-The course will be run in the arena and outside as well. Dress accordingly for Ontario May weather (sun, overcast, rain, etc.)
Where does my horse stay during the course?
-Participating horses are provided a stall. Please bring hay, feed, shavings, water bucket and anything your horse may need.
Who takes care of my horse once it is on the property?
-The participant is responsible for all of the care, needs, cleaning stalls, grooming, feeding, watering, etc of their own horse.
What equipment will I need?
-Equipment list will be provided in information package.
What if I have questions beforehand?
-We can answer any questions you may have - email us.
Where do I stay when I participate?
-There are numerous local hotel options within a 10 minute drive. Camping on-site is also available for participants only (no electricity hook-ups so bring a generator).
Are there any hotels? Restaurants near by?
-Yes, the closest towns are Port Elgin and Southampton.
What if I only want to watch?
-Spectators are welcome. Fees above. Bring own chair, snacks, drinks, anything else you would like. Lunch available for purchase. Spectators must leave once course has wrapped for the day.
Do I have to register to be a spectator?
-Yes, registration and payment to hold spot is required ahead of time.
Can I film or take photos?
-No. No one is allowed to film or take photos at the course.
Can I ask questions?
-Yes! Highly encouraged. There will also be 'classroom' type sessions that will allow for more discussions for participants and spectators.
Do I need insurance?
-Every participant must provide liability insurance once they register.
What if I pay the deposit for the course but I want to back out?
-Deposits are non-refundable under any circumstance.
Can I have someone else handle my horse if I don't want to?
-Once the clinic begins the participant is the only person who will be handling/starting their own horse. Jason will assist as needed.
Can I switch out my horse for another horse?
-If you wish to change horses ahead of time you must get approval from Jason and Bronwyn. The horse you start the course with is the only horse that is allowed in the course.
What are the hours of the course?
-To be sent in the information package. Approximately 9:30-4PM-ish
What do I eat?
-Friday, Saturday, Sunday Lunch (for participants) and Saturday evening pizza party (participants) are provided. Spectators may purchase lunches and/or pizza on Saturday night. If there is enough interest we may reserve a table at a restaurant for Friday night dinner. If you would rather bring your own meals due to dietary restrictions, preferences please do. Bring your own beverages. Bring anything else you may like to eat during the day if you wish.
Where do spectators/participants sit?
-Bring your own chair and there will be designated seating areas.
Bathroom?
-A living quarters horse trailer bathroom is on-site.
Can I bring my dog or other pet?
-No.
